filming schedule

film schedule

We have looked at one an other's time table and we have devised when are free periods are the same. We will be meeting in an accessible place at the front of the college we are hopefully planning to book a day of so when can have a full day of filming where we can hopefully get most of the scene completed , we are meeting tomorrow at break to do some filming and also at lunch.

settings

Today we went and had a closer look at our locations , we walked  where our character would and briefly acted out the scene to get a better picture of what our film is going to look like. This helped us to think and discuss the different shot types we are going to use and we also started taking stills for our story board , but unfortunately  we where unable to do any with the actors as Jordan has not been in and she is the one casting and gathering the actors.

CLOSE TO FILMING...

We should now be close to filming as we have:

Completed our film script.
Completed our PowerPoint pitch.
Researched the storyline we are going to use.

We now need to find the necessary actors for our sequence and we should then be able to use our location and begin filming.

SCRIPT FOR OUR FILM

We just finished making the script for our film sequence.

The script is made so that you can clearly tell what is dialogue and what is the storyline. The dialogue is between emily (the girl who is attacked) and Emily's mum, who Emily is on the phone to.

When we are filming our sequence, we will use the script as guidelines of what speech we are going to use and what sort of acting is going to take place.

The script starts when Emily has been let out of college and is on her way to the station and ends just after she has actually been attacked by the mysterious figure.

PROMOTION OF THE FILM

In terms of the promotion of our film, we are going to ensure it gets advertised on both television and radio, as well as through things like computer games and different types of merchandise related to the film / characters /storyline.

We know that doing this is an extremely costly process, however, we feel if the film is promoted in this way, it will be massively successful on the big screen and on the small screen in the form of DVDs, games etc.

We will also think carefully about things like film posters, as this can be just as effective, and it is much cheaper, which is a big advantage for us.

Whilst thinking about how we're going to promote the film as effectively as possible, we will try to utilise the characters in order to make people pay to watch the film. Again, this may cost more if we have to use characters not just for acting in the film but for helping out with advertising / promotional campaigns, however, we are confident these costs will be overturned by the money the film eventually makes.

BUDGET FOR OUR FILM

For our film sequence, we have a budget of about £1200. It is important we think about how to spend this money so that the film is as good as possible.

The scripts/storyline will not cost that much as we have thought of the storyline ourselves. All we had to do for the script was put our ideas onto paper and then re-inact them in the film.

We will have to pay for the use of equipment such as cameras etc. This is likely to be one of the more expensive aspects of film making. We will have to pay for the camera, which we have decided to hire, as it is a cheaper option. This will cost us around £200. This is a cost which is unavoidable, as you cannot create a film without a camera.

Then we had to think about hiring people to act for us in our sequence. Again, without the actors the film could not happen, so it was important we chose the right people. This cost us about £50 per actor, and we had to select a few actors.

Next we had to hire costumes and pay for the make-up of everyone who was acting in the film. This was quite costly as we had to choose good quality costumes. All-in-all this cost us around £400.

The location was not an issue in this particular project because we chose a local area which could be easily accessed. This did not cost us anything.

As with above, transport is not an issue as the set we are using for our sequence is local. However, we need to pay for our actors/crew to stay in hotels whilst we are filming. Because this could prove expensive, we decided to try and shoot the sequence as quick as possible. The cost of our cast and crew staying in a hotel was £350 altogether.

Finally, editing is one of the most important aspects that needs to be considered when budgeting the film. This is going to cost about £200 for the editing program.

JENNY AND TOM

Last lesson we began to start work on our pitch , we started to make a powerpoint presentation that we go half way through . Unfortunately Jordan is not in college today so we do not have her login to complete the pitch . So we are gathering ideas in which to put on the powerpoint such as pictures clips , and information about our film and the plot to it.

ANALYSIS

We as a group has decided that we would pick idea two, we have decided to pick this idea as we would be able to spend more time on it.

We have chosen Reigate train station as our set because we felt it would be a creepy setting and would add atmosphere to our teen horror genre it's lonely, dark and gloomy.
We are doing it through out our Media lessons during when it darkens when nobodies around, if it was busy it wouldn't add to the effect...
The characters that are involved are a young girl walking from college, hurrying to the train station to see if she has missed the train. She realises that she has in fact has missed it and waits for another one, another character is a mysterious black hooded man stalking the girl.
Our genre is teen horror/thriller, as result to that our targeted audience is people who loves horror and thrill of a film age range is 16-25.
We have not as a group decided on sound and camera angles. We will be making another blog on these number of things.

RESEARCH FOR OUR FILM

So far we have had two lessons researching and beginning to plan our film production we have come up with a number of ideas being the following:

1) several students return to college at night to retrieve something from a locker that does not belong to them. Whilst there they start hallucinating from the LCD they had previously taken. They start to see things and things take a turn for the worst.

2) A girl is late home from college and has missed the train , its dark and cold as she is walking underneath the subway she hears footsteps behind her all of a sudden she is grabbed by a large figure wearing a mask it then fades out and we are left with the girl dead on the floor of the subway with not anyone to help or a witness.

3) Two lovers fall apart due to the mother, only to be joined again by working together... will they fall in love.

We also picked our roles within our group they are`;

Jordan=producer
Tom=editor
Jenny= director

We also come up with the production company name TJJ productions .We came up with this simple name by emerging one another first initials.
